  • Be eligible to work full-time in New Zealand and have a current NZ driving licence

This position will include a wide range of duties including a variety of (but not limited to) the following:

  • Site inspections and investigations of solid waste management facilities, including landfills, refuse transfer stations, materials recovery facilities and composting facilities.
  • Engineering design of solid waste management facilities, especially landfills, using specialist software and Civil3D/AutoCAD.
  • Preparation of design reports, management plans, and finished drawings.
  • Preparation of contract documents, specifications and schedules.
  • Contract management, construction observation, certification and completion reporting of solid waste management facilities civil work construction projects.
  • Troubleshooting and design of remedial works.
  • Review of technical work by others.
  • Client liaison and administration.
  • Training and supervision of more junior staff.
  • Such other duties as reasonably required from time to time.

The successful candidate should:

  • Have a BE in civil engineering, ideally with post-graduate qualifications in solid waste management.
  • Have minimum five years experience in civil engineering, including good knowledge and practical experience of landfill design, operation and troubleshooting.
  • Be a chartered professional engineer (CPEng), or close to applying for CPEng.
  • Be proficient in Civil3D/AutoCAD design software.
  • Be a team player, with strong analytical, problem solving and client/contractor communication and decision making skills.

We are looking to employ an Intermediate Level Civil Engineer to be involved on an interesting array of projects, incorporating:

  • Land development including roading and landform design of small to large, residential and industrial projects on greenfield and brownfield sites
  • Water, wastewater and stormwater reticulation and treatment
  • Concept through detailed design, consenting, contract management and construction observation.

Candidates should have a relevant tertiary diploma or degree in civil engineering, a minimum of 3 years experience in civil engineering work in NZ, proficiency in civil engineering design software (Civil3D or equivalent), and familiarity with relevant Codes of Practice, NZ Standards, technical publications and guidelines.

We are looking for a senior geotechnical engineer to join the company, with the opportunity for the right person to progress to an Associate and possibly Director level, within the company. Applicants must have the following qualifications and attributes to meet our requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary degree in civil engineering or engineering geology, preferably BE (Civil)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in geotechnical engineering work
  • Experience in Word, Excel, AutoCAD and with analytical software (e.g. WALLAP, Slope/W)
  • Familiarity with relevant NZ Standards and the NZ Building Code
  • Working towards or have obtained Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or CPEng
  • Experience in scoping, organising and supervising geotechnical field investigations, undertaking geotechnical design works, slope stability appraisal and analyses, preparation of factual and interpretive reports
  • Managing the delivery of projects and staff resources to meet workloads
  • Mentoring staff, managing existing client relationships and developing new business
  • Managing costs.
