Bledisloe Netball Carpark Upgrade

Auckland Council (AC) have recently upgraded the existing netball club carpark at Bledisloe Park, Pukekohe to maximise the number of parking spaces available for the netball users and improve access and internal vehicle circulation, as the netball courts are heavily used and suffered from a carparking shortfall of 20 carparks on average and 30 at peak usage times.

Fraser Thomas was engaged by AC to undertake the consenting, detailed design, construction observation and certification of the carpark upgrade and associated works.  Our involvement included:

  • Reconfiguration of the existing carpark layout and integration with the new 1300m2 extension to optimise traffic flow with provision for further expansion
  • Drainage upgrade and treatment of carpark runoff
  • Civil design (using specialist Civil3D software)
  • Preliminary design, preparation of technical reports and Assessment of Environmental Effects (AEE) for resource consenting, including coordination of other specialist inputs (planning, arborist, traffic) and consultation with affected parties
  • Construction observation and contract administration
  • Certification and provision of completion documentation and as-built drawings.
