Forensic Engineering

When things go wrong – CSI engineering style!
Forensic engineering involves specialist skills and expertise when things go wrong, such as building damage – cracks, differential settlement, wind, accidents etc.

Typically, our senior structural, geotechnical, and/or environmental engineers get involved in such issues, often commissioned by private clients, insurance companies, or lawyers.  Some projects are relatively simple, involving a site walkover and letter report.  Others are much more complex, involving in-depth desktop analysis (reports, drawings, etc), detailed investigations (eg survey, geotechnical), engineering analysis, and the preparation and presentation of expert evidence in Court.  Often we are required to develop solutions to the problems encountered, including detailed design and costing of what may range from relatively minor to major remedial works.
