  • Be eligible to work full-time in New Zealand and have a current NZ driver’s licence
  • Be enthusiastic, a team player, show initiative, with a good attitude and work ethic
  • Have strong technical, analytical, verbal and written communication and reporting skills
  • Be practical and a quick learner
  • Be project/client focused, able to work to time and budget and ensure quality standards are met.

We are looking for a Graduate Surveyor to join our Survey team, assisting with the provision of high quality services, primarily in the Auckland region, but may also involve assistance to the Christchurch office with their project work around the Canterbury area. Workload demands will allow you to be involved in a proportionate amount of field to office work; you won’t be stuck at a desk day after day. The role will typically include:

  • Accountability for parts of projects or simple projects, undertaking Cadastral Surveying and simple Resource Consents
  • Responsibility for equipment, materials, information and supplies
  • Contributing to projects planning or planning small scale activities
  • Applying your theoretical knowledge when analysing data
  • Detailed field work and calculation of survey works of various types and sizes
  • Undertaking Cadastral Surveying utilising Magnet software, and Landonline work for various developments
  • Undertaking the site survey monitoring works, calculations and preparation of technical opinions (supported by survey and/or other technical analysis) for review by a Senior Surveyor
  • Preparation of reports and specifications, sketches and/or finished drawings, contract documents and schedules relating to the above
  • Administration relating to individual projects and limited client liaison.

As well as satisfying the broad criteria outlined above, you are also required to possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • B Surveying (NZ) or equivalent
  • The ability to work accurately and reliably
  • Confidence with Word, Excel, Magnet, GPS, Total and Robotic Stations and Land-on-Line
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Eligible to work in New Zealand and hold a current NZ driver’s licence.
