  • Be project/client focused, able to work to time and budget and ensure quality standards are met.

We are looking for a Graduate to Intermediate-level Engineer to join our Engineering Geology/Geotechnical Engineering team at our Highbrook office.

This position will provide the successful applicant with the opportunity to gain widespread experience through the field of engineering geology/geotechnical engineering.

Tasks involved would typically include:

  • Undertaking of site inspections and geotechnical investigations, which may include hand auger boreholes, test pits or machine boreholes, appraisal of data and preparation of geotechnical reports
  • Contaminated site investigations (e.g. desktop studies, site walkovers, soil sampling, etc)
  • Environmental monitoring services (e.g. water quality sampling and analysis)
  • Use of technical software
  • Client liaison and administration relating to individual projects.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Professional degree in Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering or Geology
  • Between 1 and 3 years’ NZ experience in a similar role
  • Experience with analytical programmes (WALLAP, Slope/W)
  • Current NZ driving licence
  • A good level of fitness.

Due to our increasing workload, we have a position available for a senior level Civil Engineer to join our Christchurch office. This position will include a wide range of duties including a variety of (but not limited to) the following:

  • Land development including roading and landform design of small to large, residential and industrial projects on greenfield and brownfield sites.
  • Water, wastewater and stormwater reticulation and treatment
  • Concept through detailed design, consenting, contract management and construction observation.

Applicants must have the following attributes in order to meet our requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Six years plus experience in civil engineering work in NZ and be capable of undertaking the entire civil engineering project management through to completion.
  • Proficient in engineering design software and stormwater design software.
  • Preferably CPEng with a strong focus on civil engineering. Strong candidates getting close to their CPEng application may also be considered.
  • Eligible to work in New Zealand and hold a current NZ driver’s licence.
