Te Whāriki Subdivision
This 350-Lot subdivision in Lincoln required numerous challenges to be addressed during the design and construction phases, and offers residents more than just a home.
Hampton Downs’ proposed composting operation at the North Waikato Regional Landfill, in the Waikato region.
The composting operation will primarily process green waste initially and then green waste and food waste using a GORETM or similar enclosed aerated composting system to produce a compost “soil amendment” product for use as “cover” material at the landfill site or for sale. The composting facility is an important part of the waste management and resource recovery services offered by our client, and will recover valuable resources from incoming waste, producing a valuable product and extending the landfill’s lifetime.
Our role has been to provide supporting topographical survey, civil, geotechnical and environmental engineering services associated with forming the operational composting area, vehicle turning area and associated yard and batter slopes. We also researched and developed appropriate solutions for leachate and stormwater management from the compost area and assisted with obtaining regional and district plan resource consents.
All consents have now been granted and the composting facility is under construction.
