A combination of clever structural analysis, with well thought out and coordinated Revit drawings, made for efficient construction, particularly with respect to the steel floor beams which were installed together on site with precision. Free-standing reinforced concrete masonry block walls and floor diaphragms were also incorporated into the design to reduce the requirement for additional ground floor bracing/walls, and to facilitate the open plan ground floor. To address a lack of lateral bracing against earthquake and wind loads, stair stringers were utilised as steel portal frames/struts for additional structural support. Close collaboration with contractors and sub-trades ensured the project was completed on budget and without any issues or delays.
