FTL Mourns the Loss of Peter Fraser

It is with regret that we announce the passing of Peter Fraser on Monday 19th October 2020.

Peter Fraser, with Rhys Thomas, were the founding partners of Fraser Thomas Ltd, forming a partnership in 1962 to offer engineering services based from an office in Papatoetoe, Auckland.  Taking on the role as Managing Director, Peter led the company from the time of its amalgamation in its initial form as Fraser, Thomas, Gunman, Shaw and Partners to then evolve into Fraser Thomas Ltd, until 1990, when Peter entered retirement.

Under Peter’s leadership, Fraser Thomas expanded and grew, opening offices in Kaikohe (1973) and Paihia (1982) and in the 1980’s incorporating both a Geotechnical Engineering and an International Department.

Peter was recognised by colleagues as a ‘gentleman’, with strong integrity, fairness and possessing the valued trait of being a genuine leader.  Staff and Directors of Fraser Thomas Ltd recognise and greatly appreciate the contributions Peter made toward this company and extend our greatest sympathy and thoughts to Norma (Peter’s wife) and her family for their loss.

A memorial service for Peter will be held at the All Saints Chapel, Purewa Crematorium, 100 St Johns Road, Meadowbank on Friday 30 October at 2pm.
