Our work included creating two new outdoor living areas, supporting internal architectural modifications, and improving the useable space for our clients.
Our structural team provided detailed design for three new roof beams, deck foundations, structural connections, and associated bracing elements. Internally, three existing roof beams located around the perimeter of the dining room were redesigned to be raised into the ceiling space, ensuring adequate load transfer and roof support, while creating a spacious open‑plan kitchen/dining/lounge area.
Externally, two new deck structures were designed. The first deck adjoins the north-western corner of the dwelling and is configured as a suspended timber structure, supported by specifically engineered timber pile foundations. The second deck comprised an extension to an existing elevated deck, reaching up to 2.4 metres above finished ground level at its highest point and designed to also function as a carport, with a lined surface to prevent water ingress to the space below. Particular attention was given to foundation design, durability, lateral stability, and connection detailing to suit the elevated nature and dual-purpose use of the structure.
