Not your typical engineering project! Our team helped transform a 20-foot shipping container into a striking dual-purpose reception feature for Alumme, a private hot pools destination in Queenstown, delivering both a practical storage solution and a unique, welcoming entrance experience.
The pathway conversion required forming three new openings in the container’s side walls. Fraser Thomas’ Structural Team designed the supporting roof beams, framing supports, and connections, delivering a robust, efficient structure that seamlessly integrates with the architectural vision.
By carefully assessing site-specific wind, snow, and seismic loads, we developed a safe, resilient and innovative solution, showcasing the adaptability and structural potential of repurposed shipping containers.
