23 Aug Tamaki MP Opens Special Needs Housing
Simon O’Connor, MP for Tamaki opened the latest five-unit residential development in Glen Innes on 26 July 2016. Other guests included Mayor Len Brown.
Developments for special needs people have been carried out across New Zealand by Accessible Properties NZ Ltd (APNZL). This is the first in the Glen Innes area.
Fraser Thomas have been associated with APNZL on a number of projects. For this project, we were engaged to carry out a topographical survey of the site together with set out of the dwellings. Our civil / structural engineering teams designed and observed construction of public wastewater drainage, retaining walls, and accessway / carparks including providing for stormwater management. Due to the topography of the site, design involved particular attention to accessway gradients suitable for vehicles and another for predominantly wheel-chair bound tenants.
