The opening of Wakatu Quay in December 2025 marks a significant addition to Kaikōura’s waterfront, delivering a new hospitality venue, public spaces and integrated artwork designed to support tourism and community use.
Fraser Thomas was proud to contribute to the delivery of this landmark project, providing specialist engineering services, from investigation through to construction. Our team undertook detailed geotechnical investigations to support foundation design across the site, along with construction observation services for both the single-storey hospitality building and the sculptural elements.
